Japanese tools

In this category you will find all the Japanese tools that we have in our range. The Japanese have mastered the working of steel like no other.

For example, the steel of chisels and plane blades is forged from 2 types of steel, with the hardest type serving for the cutting side and the softer type for the rest of the blade. This way you are assured that a well-sharpened blade will last a long time. Much longer than the European variants.

Japanese saws are also a well known name in woodworking. These saws work with a pulling motion instead of a pushing motion. In this way you always saw straight and the blade can be much thinner.

Japanese saws are also provided with special teeth. The saw teeth are razor-sharp on three sides (the so-called "trapezoid teeth") and positioned extremely accurately. This typical Japanese toothing cuts through the wood so neatly that sanding is often no longer necessary.
