Doet wat ie moet doen

Werd netjes opgestuurd. Het kost wat maar dan heb je ook iets wat. Voor het bouwen van akoestische gitaren vrijwel noodzakelijk om aan te schaffen als je gewoon zonder gedoe een warmtebron zoekt om hout te buigen.

Er is idd niet veel aanbod van buigijzers. Na enig zoeken kwam ik uit bij de Gitaarbouwwinkel. De prijs en het uiterlijk waren voor mij aantrekkelijk genoeg om dit buigijzer te kopen. Zoals een eerdere reviewer als aangaf duurt het wel een hele tijd voor het buigijzer op temperatuur is maar eenmaal zover doet ie wat ie moet doen. Ik vind het verder erg jammer dat de bevestigingshoeken er bij mijn exemplaar niet aan zaten. Nu moet ik een beetje improviseren om het apparaat goed stevig vast te zetten op mijn werkbank. Ook een klein minpuntje is het dunne, twee-aderige plastic netsnoertje zonder randaarde. Goed voor een schemerlampje maar niet wat je verwacht bij een thermisch apparaat.

There is not a lot of bending irons available. After some searching I arrived at the GuitarBuildSupplies. The price and appearance were attractive enough for me to buy this bending iron. As an earlier reviewer stated, it takes a long time for the bending iron to reach the right temperature, but once it does, it does what it needs to do. I also find it very unfortunate that the mounting angles were not on my copy. Now I have to improvise a little to properly secure the device on my workbench. Another small drawback is the thin, two-core plastic power cord without grounding. Good for a twilight lamp, but not what you expect with a thermal device. The model has since been changed and the problem with the cord has been adjusted.

Een buigijzer was inderdaad moeilijk te vinden. Ik ben erg tevreden over mijn aankoop. Het duurt wel een tijdje voordat hij op de juiste temperatuur is, maar hij blijft daarna wel enorm stabiel. Ik werk meestal op 195°C. De druppel-vorm maakt het buigen ideaal. Ik ben er zeer content mee en nog blijer met de resultaten die ik er mee heb verkregen.
