Padouk drop top (480x160x7mm) x2
Padouk is from West Africa. Its botanic name is pterocarpus soyauxii and it is also known as Palo rojo, Mbe, Mbil, Ngula, Bosulu. Padauk is a burnt orange colour with hairline streaks of dark brown especially when freshly cut, and when oxidised becomes a dark orange tending towards brown. This wood is very slightly harder and heavier than Indian rosewood, and is ideal for backs and sides for guitar due to its stability, string tone and easyness to work.
