- Botanical name: Cedrela odorata
- Origin: Central America, South America, Caribbean, West Indies
- Other names: Cedro, Spanish cedar
- Density: 370-560 kg/m3 23-35 lbs/ft3
- Use: Neck and heel
- This is an ideal wood for Spanish guitar necks because it is so light in weight. It is very easy to work with and very stable.
- Because of the pleasant bitter smell, cigar boxes are also made of this wood. Unfortunately, this type of wood is becoming increasingly scarce, which is why it is following in the footsteps of Mahogany.
